Shelter Profiles and Suggested Routes

All shelters are equipped with a wood burning stove, benches, hooks for drying equipment, solar lights, fire wood, and outdoor toilet.

AFFINITY CREDIT UNION  “TRAILHEAD” SHELTER

Located 32 Km north of Prince Albert, on the Affinity Credit Union Trail (212R), this shelter is strategically located for a return ride from Prince Albert or a starting point for many trail rides. You can travel west to the STURGEON RIVER SHELTER, continue north on Affinity Credit Union Trail (212R) to the GL MOBILE SHELTER and Elk Ridge, east on a circular route via MOSHER/McGREGOR SHELTER and the unique LAKELAND FORD log shelter, or simply travel any number of inner trails.

PERRY’S AUTO/PINES PSM SHELTER

Located 22 km north of Prince Albert on the Affinity Credit Union Trail (212R), this shelter is strategically located for a return ride from Prince Albert. It also serves as a good stopping off point before continuing an additional 10 km to the Affinity Credit Union Trail Head Shelter with access to numerous trails.

GUS’S AUTOMOTIVE/PA AUTOBODY SHELTER

Ideal for a large group gathering, located half way between the Lakeland Ford Shelter and Paddockwood.  The trail follows an old historic logging/fur trading route through pastures and beautiful treed areas.

LAKELAND FORD SHELTER

This is a full log shelter located half way between the town of Christopher Lake and the Candle Lake Golf Course along the TC trail (212A). The shelter affords an excellent rest spot after traveling 35 Km through boreal forest.

CONTRACTORS SHELTER

The shelter is ideal for a large group on a circular trail ride. It is also a good gathering/rest spot prior to heading over to Candle Lake or north to Anglin Lake or Elk Ridge

LESKO/TOPOROWSKI SHELTER

The shelter is located in a very scenic Marshall Lake area. It is an excellent destination shelter from Christopher/Emma Lake, Anglin Lake or Elk Ridge areas.

ECONO LUMBER SHELTER

Located approximately mid-point, the shelter is ideally situated for those riding between Emma Lake and Elk Ridge.  (app 50 Km one way) It is also a good destination place for those wishing to ride the local trails around the Anglin Lake area.

LAKE BOYZ/SUNSET BAY SHELTER

Located in a picturesque evergreen forest, the shelter is well protected from the wind. There is also a separate firepit area suitable for larger groups.  The shelter is an excellent destination place from Christopher/Emma or Anglin Lake it is also a good gathering place from Elk Ridge and McPhee Lake.

GL MOBILE SHELTER

Located approximately mid-point, the shelter is ideally situated for those on a return ride from Christopher Lake  (app 134 Km round trip)  It is also a good destination place for those wishing to ride the local trails around the Elk Ridge area.

SASKATOON WATER SPORTS “BOAT HOUSE” SHELTER

The shelter is ideal for a large group on a circular trail ride. It is also a good gathering place prior to heading north to Anglin Lake or Elk Ridge or east to Candle Lake.

PA PHOTOCOPIER “SUGAR SHACK” SHELTER

Located 10 Km from the town of Christopher Lake, this is an excellent gathering place before heading off to Anglin Lake, Elk Ridge, Candle Lake or riding the surrounding trails.

NAPA AUTO SHELTER

An easy 40 Km ride from the town of Christopher Lake along mostly groomed trails via ditches and relatively flat open terrain interspersed with a few steep hills through treed areas. This is an  excellent destination site, ideal for family outings as there opportunities for  tobogganing, ice fishing and sledding on lakes along the way. The shelter at the halfway point on the ride to the Sturgeon Shelter

STURGEON RIVER SHELTER

Located on the banks of the Sturgeon River, 60 Km from Christopher Lake, this shelter is a good resting spot prior to continuing on the Canwood Trail system for 38 Km to Cannwood. There are no fuel stops between Christopher Lake and Canwood.
